The MX2033 three-wire driver and MX2034 4-20mA transmitter are part of the Metrix digital proximity system. In the late 1950s, a proximity system was invented to measure rotor vibration and position. The eddy current proximity probe system was ideal for monitoring machines with fluid film bearings without making contact with the vibrating shaft. The concept of shaft monitoring for fluid film bearing machines was not new.
